On March 1, 2021 we had a pleasure to meet a special guest, Orlando Duarte portuguese futsal coach.
The meeting was attended by prof. dr hab. Eng. Marek Sitarz - Head of the Department of Transport and IT at WSB University, Maciej Sadowski - Head of the Physical Culture Study at WSB University, Karol Król - President of WSB University Academic Sports Association and Rafał Franz - Sports Director of Piast Gliwice Futsal Team. During the meeting, the topics of cooperation and further development of the University's futsal team were discussed.
The coach Orlando Duarte won the Portuguese Championship five times (in the 1992/93, 1993/94, 1998/99, 2000/01 and 2010/11 seasons). In the meantime, he successfully led the Portuguese national team. He then work with Nikars Riga, leading the Latvian team to regularly participate in the UEFA Futsal Cup Main Round (Nikars was the Latvian champion 12 times in a row). Subsequently, Duarte was hired by the team of the French major league Orchies Pévèle Futsal Club.
