1st Conference "Development and Efficiency of the National Fiscal Administration"

On 11 May, the WSB University hosted the 1st Conference "Development and Efficiency of the National Tax Administration", organised by the WSB University and the National Tax Administration.

The event was inaugurated by:

  • dr hab. Zdzisława Dacko-Pikiewicz, prof. AWSB - Rector of the WSB University,
  • young insp. Mariusz Cupiał - Director of the Tax Administration Chamber in Katowice.

Among the invited guests who delivered lectures were:

  • Mr Jarosław Szczepański, Deputy Director of the Tax Administration Chamber in Katowice,
  • Mr Adam Bigaj, Deputy Head of the Silesian Customs and Fiscal Office in Katowice,
  • Mr. Dariusz Gruca, Head of Department Strategic Analysis Centre of the Fiscal Administration Chamber in Katowice,
  • Ms Ewelina Kucharska, Senior Specialist in the HR Department of the Tax Administration Chamber in Katowice,
  • Ms Monika Piątkowska, Junior Specialist in the HR Department of the Tax Administration Chamber in Katowice,
  • Ms Aleksandra Siemion, Head of the Customer Service Support Department of the Tax Administration Chamber in Katowice,
  • Mr Paweł Cochur, Head of the First Tax Office in Katowice,
  • Ms Karolina Sapeta, Junior Specialist at the Communication Desk of the Fiscal Administration Chamber in Katowice,
  • Ms Katarzyna Klos, Senior clerk in the Second Personnel and Human Resources Department of the Tax Administration Chamber in Katowice.

Representatives of provincial and district employment offices were also present at the conference.

The lectures were devoted to contemporary fiscal administration, issues concerning the fight against economic crime, and additionally introduced the National Fiscal Administration, showing it as an attractive employer, following current trends.

In addition to the lectures, the Conference programme included a panel discussion. Participants in the debate included: Mr Jarosław Szczepański, Mr Adam Bigaj, Ms Monika Górniak and Mr Dariusz Gruca.

The discussion was moderated by Ms Renata Pałuchowska-Moritz, Deputy Director of the IAS Katowice and Dr Marcin Lis, Professor at the WSB University, Vice-Rector for Student and Community Affairs.

The conference was topped off with a demonstration of intervention activities, including the use of a service dog, a practical presentation of the capabilities of a mobile laboratory and a demonstration of a mobile X-ray scanner.
