Scientific Conference "Amendment of the Labour Code - assessment of the regulation and its effects"

On Wednesday, 1 February this year, the first Scientific Conference was held, organised by the Department of Law and Administration of the WSB University, entitled. "Amendment of the Labour Law - assessment of the regulation and its effects", devoted to issues related to the amendment of the Labour Code.

The conference was inaugurated by Dr Marcin Lis, Prof. of WSBU, Vice-Rector for Student and Community Relations at the WSB University, and the participants were welcomed by Dr Aldona Jurewicz, Prof. of the WSB University - Head of the Department of Law and Administration and by Łukasz Staszel, lawyer, member of the Department of Law and Administration and lecturer at the WSBU.

The introductory lecture on the subject matter of the conference was delivered by Dr Leszek Bielecki, Professor UJK - Judge of the Supreme Court Labour and Social Insurance Chamber.

In the first block of the conference, the speakers discussed the amendment to the Labour Code signed on Friday 27th January this year, permanently introducing provisions regulating remote working. Participating in the discussion were:

  • Dr Patryk Kuzior, lecturer at the WSB University,
  • Dr Tomasz Sadowski, legal counsel, lecturer at the WSB University,
  • Przemysław Pogłódek, lecturer at the WSB Umniversity, specialist in labour law,
  • Edyta Stolarek, Senior Manager Payroll, from MDDP Outsourcing,
  • Łukasz Staszel, attorney at law, lecturer at the WSB University, specialist in labour law,
  • Martyna Kucharska-Staszel, Data Protection Inspector, lecturer at the WSB University, trainee attorney.

The second part of the conference was devoted to issues related to the implementation in the Labour Code of the Directive of the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union on transparent and predictable working conditions and work-life balance for parents and guardians. Participants in the discussion included:
