Study visit to the seaport of Hamburg and the container terminal HHLA Altenwerder and GRUBER LOGISTICS GMBH in Bremen

WSB University students, with their supervisor Dr. Jacek Karcz, have recently visited the seaport of Hamburg and the container terminal HHLA Altenwerder and GRUBER LOGISTICS GMBH in Bremen.

The HHLA Altenwerder container terminal, which is recognised worldwide as state-of-the-art project, is the first container handling facility in the world to be certified as Climate Neutral.
During the visit, the students learnt about the organisational model of Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) and saw Europe's largest container station, Kombi-Transeuropa Terminal Hamburg (KTH), which provides rail service for HHLA Container Terminal Altenwerder (CTA). In addition, the students had the opportunity to learn about the company's wide range of services which include full and partial loads, heavy and special transport, air and sea freight, warehouse logistics and industrial relocation.

The study visit commenced as part of the implementation of the project 'EduLider - development of the WSB University for the region', which is co-financed by the European Union under the Operational Programme Knowledge Education Development 2014-2020.
