Summary of the BIP "Fostering Sustainable Business Practices" 2024

The "Fostering Sustainable Business Practices: Empowering University Students for SDG-Aligned Impact" Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) concluded successfully on June 28, 2024, at WSB University in Dąbrowa Górnicza, Poland. The program, running from June 10 to June 28, offered a comprehensive exploration of sustainability from environmental, social, and economic perspectives.

The program featured a diverse lineup of experts who contributed significantly to its success. Prof. George Horia Ionescu, PhD. from the Romanian-American University delivered an insightful presentation on "The Economy of Sustainable Development." Ewa Palarczyk, representing GPM EMEA, led a session on Green Management, while Assoc. Prof. Joanna Kurowska-Pysz, PhD. from WSB University guided participants through building sustainable project management practices. Krystian Mączka, Eng., PhD., also from WSB University, conducted a workshop on the sustainable use of digital technologies. Rano Egemberdieva presented  "Advancing Sustainable Development - ESG Practices in Kyrgyzstan’s Financial Sector", highlighting the progress and challenges in her region. Prof. Aleksy Kwilinski, PhD. followed with a presentation on "Transformation of the Existence Paradigm: Navigating Through Sustainability, Digitalization, and Beyond" exploring the intersections of sustainability and digital transformation. Additionally, Małgorzata Małecka and Paweł Urgacz of WSB University, along with guest speaker J. Woźnikowski from GZM Company, played key roles in facilitating various lectures and workshops.

Students and faculty from various disciplines participated in both online and on-site sessions. The program featured expert-led workshops and lectures on topics such as greenwashing, green project management, and intercultural communication. Notably, participants engaged in study visits to sustainable enterprises, including a visit to Capgemini and the Marshal's Office in Katowice.

The program's culmination included team presentations, interactive workshops, and a final networking event at Fabryka Pełna Życia, offering a perfect blend of academic rigor and practical experience. Participants left with a deeper understanding of sustainable practices and a strong network for future collaborations.
