Dr. Zdzisława Dacko-Pikiewicz, Prof. AWSB - Rector of WSB University, Dr. Joanna Kurowska-Pysz, Prof. AWSB, and Dr. Łukasz Wróblewski, Prof. AWSB, were appointed as members of the Commission on Polish-Czech Relations of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Katowice for the term 2023-2026. Representatives of WSB University were appointed to this commission for the third time.
The Commission has been active since 1992. Since 2015, Prof. Dr. Wojciech Swiatkiewicz has been the chairman of the Commission. The Commission is engaged in interdisciplinary research of the broadly understood Polish-Czech-Slovak neighbourhood, mainly in border areas, in historical, sociological, cultural and economic-social aspects. The Commission is a co-editor of the cross-border, international publishing series "TRANSCARPATHICA. Proceedings of the Polish-Czech-Slovak EuroInstitute". The function of scientific editor of the last two volumes of the series: volume VII entitled "Śląsk Cieszyński w świetle wyzwań i zagrożeń XXI wieku" and volume VIII entitled "Śląsk Cieszyński w świetle wyzwań pandemicznych i postpandemicznych" was performed by Dr Łukasz Wróblewski, Professor AWSB.
