Summary conference of the project ''Promoting ACTIVE and Responsible Citizenship in Schools''

On 30 November 2023, a conference summarising the project ''Promoting ACTIVE and Responsible Citizenship in Schools'' funded by the Erasmus+ Partnership for Cooperation in School Education programme took place within the walls of the WSB University.

The ACTIVE project is implemented together with five other partners: from the Czech Republic (Odpovědná společnost, z. s., Josef Ressel Gymnasium in Chrudim), Slovakia (Felix Private Primary School), , Austria (ECECE) and Italy (Learnable).

The main aim of the project was to promote active and responsible citizenship among pupils aged 12-18, enabling them to move around and understand the world in which they live.

Through the methodological tools produced by the ACTIVE project, young people from the qualifying schools were able to learn to think critically, to understand the context and possible consequences of their own actions, and to be open to supporting peer discussions, which is essential for being a responsible and active citizen.

Pupils and teachers attending the conference were able to become familiar with the tools and results developed within ACTIVE in Czech, Austrian, Italian and Slovak schools, presented by the project manager, Dr Michał Szyszka, Piotr Stoły, and by teachers implementing project activities in Polish schools: Ms Milena Dudzik representing Primary School No. 20 in Katowice and Ms Katarzyna Kiklińska, representing  III LO in Zabrze.

Inspiring lectures also aroused the interest of the audience: Jarosław Gwizdak's "Is it worth being a super-citizen?", Dr Edyta Nowak-Żółty - "Internet - construction or destruction" and Dr Michał Szyszko and Piotr Stoły - "From fakews to post-truth".

The ACTIVE project is implemented within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme More information can be found on the project website:
