Every study abroad opportunity under the ERASMUS+ program requires a three-party agreement called the Learning Agreement for Studies.
The parties involved in this agreement are:
- The student,
- The Academic Mobility Coordinator from the WSB University (Sending Institution),
- The Department Coordinator from the receiving institution (Receiving Institution).
To complete the Learning Agreement, you will need:
- Details about WSB, including the available courses.
- Information about your mobility dates.
The Learning Agreement must be signed by you, the responsible person at WSB, and the responsible person at your host institution.
Instructions for the online Learning Agreement can be found in the attached PowerPoint presentation or by following this video tutorial:
You can access the platform for Online Learning Agreement here:

Form for Learning Agreement for Studies
The receiving institution will partially fill out the LA for Studies with their information, so it's important to download the Learning Agreement directly from the website of the chosen university.
Instructions for Filling Out the Learning Agreement
The Learning Agreement consists of three parts (discussed below):
- Before the Mobility (filled out before the departure)
- During the Mobility (filled out during the exchange period)
- After the Mobility (filled out after returning)
How to Prepare the Learning Agreement for Studies
There are two reasons to prepare the Learning Agreement for Studies.
The first reason is to set up the student’s course program during the exchange at the receiving institution. The student works with the Academic Mobility Coordinator to create this program based on the courses available at the partner university and their own program at the WSB University. The second reason is to confirm the academic recognition of the courses taken abroad.
The Learning Agreement consists of 3 parts:
- Before the Mobility
Table A lists the courses the student plans to take at the receiving institution, while Table B shows the courses that will be recognized at the WSB University after completing the program. The courses in the LA are chosen based on similar learning outcomes and the number of ECTS credits; therefore, comparing course content is crucial.
Usually, a student completes 30 ECTS credits in one semester at the receiving institution and 60 ECTS credits in an academic year. In some cases, the Department Coordinator may accept fewer ECTS credits (for example, due to program differences resulting from STCW). The Learning Agreement is prepared in three copies (one for each university and one for the student).
- During the Mobility
This part of the Learning Agreement is filled out during the exchange. It is used to make changes to the originally planned course program (Table C) and any changes regarding academic recognition (Table D).
Any proposed changes to the LA must be sent via email to the Department Coordinator no later than one month after arriving at the partner university. When proposing changes, the student should provide a reason for dropping the original courses and a description of the new courses they wish to take. Changes should first be discussed with the coordinator at the receiving institution and then described to the Academic Mobility Coordinator at the WSB University to gain their approval.
If the Transcript of Records shows courses that were not included in the agreement and the change to add these courses was not made following the described procedure, this indicates an unauthorized decision by the student. The Department Coordinator may refuse to recognize the additional courses.
- After the Mobility
This part is filled out after the student returns from the exchange. It is used to finalize the results achieved at the foreign university. Table E lists the courses passed at the receiving institution (based on the Transcript of Records), and Table F lists the courses passed at the WSB University.
ECTS Credits Recognition
Students participating in Study Mobility will receive full credit for all academic work successfully carried out at host institution. These academic credits will be transferred from one participating University to another provided there are agreements between the institutions involved. The student remains a degree student at his/her home university, to which he/she returns after a specified period spent studying abroad. ECTS enables the student to have all courses successfully completed abroad recognised without loss of time or credit. Once the host institution has sent the ‘Transcript of Records’, credit transfer can take place at the home institution.
