On the 31st of August the first working meeting between representatives of the WSB University and the Florida University was held. It took place in the Spanish University’s headquater in Catarroja. The participants were: prof. Joanna Kurowska-Pysz, WSB University, Director of Research Institute on Territorial and Inter-Organizational Cooperation, dr Lubomira Trojan from WSB University and Inmaculada Mora Orti and Eduardo Emilio Lazaro Lechuga from Florida University. During the meeting prof. Kurowska-Pysz introduced the goals of the project, context of the future cooperation together with a Helix model which should become a reference in project’s assumptions. Representatives of Florida University presented their departments, mission and eductional model. They also gave a tour of the University buildings.
The meeting’s participants discussed the needs of the two universities, especially in the context of student’s expectations and cooperation with local stakeholders. One part of the meeting was devoted to the experiences gained by both Universities in the previous projects. Both sides agreed that there is a deep need for networking and formation of closer cooperation. The Q-HELIX project assumptions were discussed together with the Florida’s University opportunities of project involvement.
The meeting let both sides to get to know each other and share the expactations which can be fulfilled by the common project.
