In April 2024, DOBA Faculty successfully hosted a pivotal pilot training session as part of the Erasmus+ KA2 international project, VR4Skills—Comprehensive Training Framework for Leaders of Internationalization Enhanced by Virtual Reality (VR) in a Post-Pandemic Era.
The two-day in-person training, conducted on April 15 and 16, 2024, at DOBA premises, marked the culmination of a comprehensive pilot program initiated in January 2024. This program encompassed a four-week online training segment followed by the intensive on-site session.
The training was structured around four key modules:
- Mental/Cognitive Health Competencies: Focused on enhancing emotional and social intelligence, stress management to prevent burnout, and strategies to improve mental well-being.
- Digital Skills: Aimed at developing the ability to create workplace-appropriate digital content, effectively utilize collaboration and communication tools, and understand various data storage solutions.
- Leadership and Management Skills: Designed to help participants identify and refine their leadership capabilities and employ tools to drive change through collaboration and communication.
- Intercultural Effectiveness: Concentrated on assessing and enhancing intercultural competencies and applying new techniques for working in diverse cultural environments.
The on-site training particularly emphasized Module 1, delving into personal growth, time management, positive psychology, and achieving a harmonious work-life balance. Expert trainers from Avans University of Applied Sciences led the sessions, with participants engaging enthusiastically, contributing to the program's overall success.
The VR4Skills project is co-funded by the European Union's Erasmus+ program, reflecting a commitment to advancing educational practices and supporting the professional growth of university staff across Europe.
