The School of Technology and Management (ESTG) welcomed the team of the ENTER-CBL project: Boosting Entrepreneurial Mindset with Challenge-Based Learning, between July 3rd and 5th.
This project aims to empower future entrepreneurs through the development of Challenge Based Learning method. The program is developed by four higher education institutions: WSB University (Poland), Aydin University, Istanbul (Turkey), Romanian-American University (Romania), and the School of Technology and Management of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto. Businet (Belgium) participated in this meeting as an external specialist with expertise in supporting the dissemination of international projects.
This program promotes the power of challenge-based learning with the goal of creating an entrepreneurial mindset among the involved students through real business challenges, workshops, and contact with industry specialists. Through the program, participants can acquire the skills, knowledge, and confidence necessary to transform ideas into successful businesses.
During the first day of the meeting, participants had the opportunity to get to know ESTG and attend a lecture by Mário Cruz and Ricardo Queirós from the Center for Pedagogical Innovation of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto. The lecture addressed the integration of digital tools and experiences in challenge-based learning to empower the entrepreneurs of the next generation. They also attended a presentation by Aydin University.
Throughout the second day, various teaching methodologies used in several courses of ESTG's Department of Business Sciences were presented. Professors Adriano Andreghetto, Amélia Carvalho, Fernanda Leão, Olga Pereira, Telma Mendes, and Tiago Cunha were present. The methodologies were showcased, and the discussion focused on the potential application of these methods in the mentioned project.
In the final days, participants provided feedback on the previously presented methodologies and debated practical strategies for learning based on real challenges. The project team also had the opportunity to visit a regional footwear company—NOBRAND, and the Pão de Ló de Margaride factory.
