Rector’s Scholarship

Applications may be submitted:

• In person – at the Scholarship Office (Room 306) or at the Dean’s Office of your Branch Faculty.
• By traditional mail – to: WSB University, ul. Cieplaka 1c, 41-300 Dąbrowa Górnicza, Poland.
• Online – via the Webcon platform.

Scanned copies sent by email will not be accepted.
Only complete applications will be considered.
It is your responsibility to carefully complete and submit the application in the correct form.

• Full-time and part-time students of first-cycle (Bachelor’s) and second-cycle (Master’s) programmes after completing the first semester.
• First-semester second-cycle students may apply based on their final GPA from the last semester of their completed Bachelor’s studies, provided they began their Master’s programme within one year of graduation.

The Rector’s Scholarship may be awarded to a student who meets one of the following criteria:

• Achieved a grade point average (GPA) of at least 4.5 in the previous semester (extra points are awarded for documented scientific or artistic achievements), or
• Demonstrated outstanding athletic performance at national level or higher in the previous semester.

The Rector’s Scholarship cannot be awarded to:

• Students who already hold a Master’s, Master of Engineering, or equivalent degree,
• Students who already hold a Bachelor’s or Engineering degree and are enrolling in another first-cycle programme,
• Students who are repeating a semester, conditionally passing, or on academic leave.

• Winter semester: from 15 September to 16 October (application form available from 15 September)
• Summer semester: from 15 February to 16 March

Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

A first-year student may receive the Rector’s Scholarship if they were admitted in the same year they passed the secondary school final exam (matura) and are:

• A laureate of an international Olympiad, or a laureate/finalist of a national-level Olympiad as defined by the Polish education regulations, or
• A medalist in sports competition for the title of Polish Champion in a sport regulated by national sports law.

In accordance with the amended Article 93 of the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science, student benefits, including the Rector’s Scholarship, are available for:

• First-cycle (Bachelor’s),
• Second-cycle (Master’s),
• Long-cycle Master’s studies

...for a total of 12 semesters, regardless of whether benefits were used. The following limits apply within this period:

• Bachelor’s programmes – no more than 9 semesters
• Master’s programmes – no more than 7 semesters

The benefit period includes all semesters started, including those during leaves of absence, except for semesters of a new Bachelor’s programme undertaken after obtaining a degree.

In the case of studying multiple programmes simultaneously, overlapping semesters are counted as one semester.

Rector’s Scholarship for international students
