The Student Code of Ethics at WSB University

At WSB University, ethics, responsibility, and mutual respect are not just ideals — they are part of who we are. With that in mind, we are proud to present the newly adopted Student Code of Ethics, officially approved by the Rector on 20 December 2024.

What makes this document truly exceptional is that it was developed by students themselves. It reflects the real values and expectations of our academic community and is designed to protect the University’s good name while promoting an environment of inclusion, honesty, and accountability.

More Than Rules — A Shared Commitment

The Student Code of Ethics is a comprehensive guide to responsible academic conduct. It reminds every student of their role as a representative of WSB University — not just on campus, but also in professional, social, and online settings. It promotes:

• Respect for all individuals — regardless of gender, origin, beliefs, or background,
• Academic honesty and fairness — with clear opposition to plagiarism and misuse of AI tools,
• Integrity in communication and conduct,
• Support for diversity and inclusion, especially for students with disabilities and international peers,
• Active engagement in community-building, sustainable development, and lifelong learning.

It also defines students’ rights — such as access to fair assessment, academic support, and participation in student life — and encourages everyone to seek peaceful conflict resolution and protect the values of the University.

Ethics in the Age of AI

One of the key elements of the new Code is its guidance on the responsible use of AI. While students are encouraged to explore modern technologies, using AI in exams or assignments is only allowed with instructor permission. Data privacy, academic integrity, and ethical boundaries must always be respected.

Why It Matters

This Code is not just a policy document — it's a reflection of our shared identity. It shows who we are, how we work together, and what kind of future we want to build. It ensures that every student can learn and grow in an environment that is safe, fair, inclusive, and inspiring.
