Notice of the Rector of WSB University on the organisation of the teaching process in winter semester of the academic year 2020/2021

Due to the current, still very alarming pandemic situation in Poland and in the word, I would like to inform you that classes at WSB University in the winter semester of the academic year 2020/2021 for the undergraduate, engineering and graduate students as well as the participants of the postgraduate students, doctoral seminars and doctoral school, will be conducted in three ways:

– in-class teaching with elements of online education

– online education with elements of in-class teaching

– full online education

As of today, most teaching classes are scheduled in an online form with application of the methods and techniques set for the distance learning, based on the timetable, that is:

• lectures, workshops, language courses, tutoring classes and seminars will be run in a distance mode using a hybrid form – time of the classes corresponds to the timetable. Applications such as Microsoft Teams and Moodle Platform will be applied.
• IT workshops will be carried out in a form of virtual laboratories or/and by means suggested by the lecturer. Classes will be held in real time, using Microsoft Teams application and Moodle platform.

Recommended IT tools for the distance learning classes are:

• Microsoft Teams
• Moodle platform
• Virtual laboratories

At the same time, in order to meet the expectations of our foreign students, whose arrival to Poland may be delayed, I would like to inform all concerned that the university guarantees participation in online classes. That mode allows the programme to be carried out regardless of the localization.

The above arrangements have been set out based on the present state of legal affairs and the pandemic situation in Poland. However, depending on the development of the pandemic situation, we will be flexible to apply all necessary solutions also during the semester.

Since the beginning of Covid–19 epidemic in Poland the university authorities have ensured a full working comfort and safety.

I hope that with the beginning of the academic year, we will be able to commence that year in a traditional manner. However, considering the current epidemic situation and being responsible for your health and life, we are unable to make a different decision.

I would like to stress that WSB University conducts all its duties with utmost care towards the university community. We will make sure that our students, course participants and doctoral students will have gained the highest possible level of education.

I believe that by supporting each other, we will soon meet safely at the WSB University.
