INGENIATUS

The INGENIATUS interdisciplinary Scientific Circle has been operating since 2010. It is an initiative addressed to students of all fields of study of the Faculty in Cieszyn. The Circle is aimed at, among others, exploring the issues of management and production engineering in various aspects, expanding theoretical knowledge, getting to know the professional market in this field and preparing students to use the latest engineering solutions.

As part of the INGENIATUS Scientific Circle, mainly projects developing a low-carbon economy in the Polish-Czech border area are implemented. Pro-ecological solutions developed in cooperation with the Technical University in Ostrava and TRIANON from Czech Cieszyn are co-financed mainly by the European Union under the European Regional Development Fund under the Interreg V-A Czech Republic - Poland Program. Students of the INGENIATUS Scientific Circle, gaining knowledge during numerous study visits, laboratories, practical workshops or Polish-Czech summer schools, have specialized in installations using solar collectors, heat pumps, and photovoltaic cells.

For five years, the Circle has also been conducting regular research related to the functioning of entities from the cultural sphere (including the Polish-Czech border). In 2017, thanks to the MediaLab grant obtained in Katowice for research conducted in the group of recipients of Katowice's cultural offer, students of the INGENIATUS Scientific Circle were able to design and conduct research on, among others, the spatial impact of Katowice philharmonic institutions (research conducted at the Polish Radio National Symphony Orchestra in Katowice and the Henryk Mikołaj Górecki Silesian Philharmonic in Katowice) or the ecologicalization of consumer behavior on the cultural services market. They also conducted research on the quality of services of Cieszyn's intercity carriers, carried out jointly with the Cieszyn Castle, and research aimed at developing a diagnosis of the state of culture in Cieszyn and Czech Cieszyn (as part of the cross-border project Program for the culture of Cieszyn and Czech Cieszyn, commissioned by the City of Cieszyn and Education Talent Culture in Czech Cieszyn). Since 2013, they have also actively participated in the organization of the International Scientific Conference Contemporary Problems of Management and Marketing in the Institutions of Culture, which takes place in Cieszyn and Czech Cieszyn. The scientific conference organized by WSB University’s Faculty in Cieszyn is one of the few cyclical cross-border scientific events in Central Europe that invariably takes place both on the Polish (Cieszyn) and Czech side of the border (Czech Cieszyn).
