The dynamically changing regulatory environment in the field of climate and energy policy, the transformation of national economies towards low- or zero-carbon, the unprecedented scale of development of variable renewable energy sources and rising fuel and energy prices are creating new challenges for the domestic energy sector.
The Institute of Energy Transformation is a team of academics whose competence, education and experience enable them to carry out research and R&D projects on the challenges faced by the national energy sector, heating, transportation, as well as end users of fuels and energy.
The scope of the unit's activities is interdisciplinary research of technical, economic, regulatory, environmental and social conditions for the introduction and effective operation of low-carbon energy technologies in Poland.
The research topics undertaken by the Institute of Energy Transformation include new energy technologies, renewable energy sources, low-carbon transportation, sustainable heating, and energy efficiency of energy and heat end-use. The research issues undertaken are carried out from technical, economic, regulatory, environmental and social aspects, with the aim of addressing the needs and challenges of all stakeholders affected by energy transition processes.
