VI International Staff Week 2024

We're excited to invite you to our Staff Week happening in May 2024 here at WSB University. It's going to be a blast with lots of learning, networking, and fun!

Eva Haug

Eva Haug is Educational Advisor for Curriculum Internationalization and COIL/VE and senior lecturer Intercultural Competence at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. She’s an elected Steering Group member of the EAIE (European Association for International Education) for the Internationalization at Home expert community. She’s also a research fellow at the University of the Free State (SA) and works as affiliated trainer for Florida International University.

As educational advisor she provides professional development for lecturers and staff for internationalization of the curriculum and online collaboration. Eva has built a sustainable COIL practice at the AUAS of 100+ projects per year, offering thousands of students the opportunity to experience international and intercultural teamwork by pairing students from Amsterdam with students from all over the world. She has presented about COIL/VE at many conferences and is regularly invited by universities to provide professional development for IoC and COIL.

How can we give our students a global experience without traveling? How can we internationalise our curriculum and include diverse perspectives? One of the modalities to accomplish this, is COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning). In this workshop, that will take place on location as well as online, you’ll have the opportunity to discover the opportunities of online collaboration.
We’ll explore the following topics:

  • What and why of COIL
  • How to facilitate learning from cultural differences
  • COIL curriculum design: from learning outcomes to reflection and assessment
  • Choosing the technology to support your design
  • BIP and COIL: best of both worlds
