12th Night of Shooting Stars at Pogoria III – Join Us on 7 August!
On 7 August, WSB University invites all enthusiasts of science, great fun, and… a star-studded sky to a special event that has become a permanent fixture in the summer calendar of Dąbrowa Górnicza.
This year’s 12th Night of Shooting Stars will be held under the motto:
“Catch Your Star at Pogoria!”
The Main Beach of Pogoria III will transform into a space full of family attractions, scientific curiosities, animation activities, and shared night-sky observations. It is a perfect opportunity to spend time with family and friends, combine learning with entertainment, and – of course – make a wish upon a shooting star!
Event Programme
Location: Main Beach, Pogoria III, Dąbrowa Górnicza
Date & Time: Thursday, 7 August 2025, starting at 2:00 PM
- 2:00 PM – Official Opening
- 2:15 PM – WOPR Rescue Demonstration, OSP Siewierz Fire Truck Presentation, and First Aid Workshop
- 3:00 PM – Science Pentathlon – Intergenerational Competitions and Contests
- 4:00–7:00 PM – Games and Animation Activities: sports challenges, giant board games (incl. Dobble, XXL Jenga), dancing and music activities, XXL soap bubbles, team-building games such as the Leaders’ Tower, Balloon Volleyball, timed word-building challenges, and learning group dances such as the Belgian Dance, Cowboy Dance, and the traditional Obertas
- 7:00–8:00 PM – Disco with the Stars
- 8:30–10:00 PM – Night Sky Observations with Dariusz Nelle and the presentation “ABC of Astrophotography with a Fixed Camera”
In addition to shared fun and educational attractions, participants will witness a truly magical moment – the observation of a meteor shower. It’s the perfect occasion to pause for a while, look up at the stars, and… make a wish!
Admission is free!
We warmly invite families, residents of Dąbrowa Górnicza and the surrounding area, as well as everyone who wishes to spend an unforgettable summer evening in the great outdoors.
