12th Night of Shooting Stars – “Catch Your Star at Pogoria!”

We recently hosted a special event organized by WSB University, which has now become a permanent fixture in Dąbrowa Górnicza’s summer calendar.

On 7 August, the Main Beach at Pogoria III once again became a place full of smiles, activity, and scientific inspiration. The event kicked off at 2:00 p.m. with high energy, starting with a WOPR water rescue demonstration, a fire truck from OSP Siewierz, and first aid workshops.

Things got even more exciting with the Scientific Pentathlon, which attracted fans of puzzles, physical challenges, and team competitions. Meanwhile, the beach was filled with integration games, board games, dancing, and soap bubbles. There were races, laughter, playful competitions, and of course – the belgijka dance, which always thrilled the crowd. In the evening, during Disco with the Stars, the beach transformed into a dance floor.

Just after dusk, it was time for a moment of calm – stargazing with Dariusz W. Nelle and a presentation titled “ABC of Astrophotography”. The dark sky was illuminated by the Perseids, accompanied by hundreds of wishes whispered toward the falling stars.

Participants were kept hydrated thanks to Dąbrowskie Wodociągi, and Radio ESKA provided the musical atmosphere. Thank you for joining us for this special edition. See you next year – with another dose of excitement, knowledge, and… magic under the starry sky!
