4th Career Day in Jaworzno

Hundreds of students, experts from various industries, and real conversations about the future – the 4th Career Day in Jaworzno demonstrated that informed career decisions begin with experience, not theory.

The event was organized in cooperation with the City of Jaworzno, the Jaworzno Chamber of Commerce, the District Labour Office in Jaworzno, and the Jaworzno Business Laboratory, as part of the 22nd Science Festival of WSB University. Participants included secondary school students, representatives of public institutions, and labor market practitioners.

The ceremony was inaugurated by representatives of WSB University and invited guests, including: Bożena Garbocz and Dominik Penar – Vice-Deans for Development at WSB University, Łukasz Kolarczyk – Deputy Mayor of Jaworzno, Łukasz Curyło – Director of the District Labour Office in Jaworzno, and Mateusz Łętowski – President of the Jaworzno Chamber of Commerce.

Following the official part, the workshop sessions began. Participants had the opportunity to explore various career paths and confront their expectations with the realities of the labor market.

The program included, among others, topics such as:

  • cybersecurity in logistics and transport,
  • mental resilience and building self-confidence,
  • the specifics of service in the Police,
  • the impact of social media on relationships and self-esteem,
  • career development in professions such as cosme
  • tologist, paramedic, or lawyer,
  • new technologies and entrepreneurship.

Particular interest was drawn to the VR zone prepared by the District Labour Office in Jaworzno in cooperation with partners from Dąbrowa Górnicza and the Kraków district. Thanks to VR headsets, participants could “step into” various professional roles and assess which suited them best.

There was also no shortage of competition and entertainment. In an interactive KAHOOT quiz, the best participants were awarded, and the “Company in a Reel. Jaworzno – I study here, I work here!” contest was also decided, with winners: Weronika Porzyczka, Miłosz Byrczek, and Alicja Marszałek.

The afternoon part of the event took place at Lokal In in Jaworzno and focused on new technologies and entrepreneurship. Participants attended, among others, a lecture by Dr. Eng. Karol Jędrasiak on threats related to deepfakes, as well as a presentation by Jakub Bochenek, who spoke about the development of the Tuban brand and building a business in Jaworzno.

The Career Day in Jaworzno once again confirmed that effective education is one that combines knowledge with practice. Direct contact with experts, the opportunity to ask questions, and the ability to test different career scenarios provide young people with real tools for making informed decisions.

WSB University consistently creates a space where education meets the realities of the labor market – and where the future begins with action.
