The 7th InterUni Forum for Internationalization of Higher Education, hosted by WSB University from October 1-5, 2024, gathered experts, educators, and industry leaders to explore the future of education through innovation, skills development, and international cooperation. The event highlighted two major projects: ENTER-CBL and VR4Skills.
The ENTER-CBL (Challenge-Based Learning) project aims to foster an entrepreneurial mindset in students by integrating real-world challenges into education. Experts such as Paweł Urgacz, Sonia M. Gómez Puente and George Ionescu shared insights on how this approach enhances students’ problem-solving skills and drives innovation.
Małgorzata Małecka-Tomala, Lecturer at WSB University led an engaging workshop on creating challenges for entrepreneurship education. She showcased how innovative methods like Design Thinking can be used to foster creativity and problem-solving among students. Her session provided practical tools for educators to integrate challenge-based learning into their courses, helping students develop entrepreneurial skills essential for today’s fast-changing world.
The VR4Skills project focuses on creating a comprehensive training framework for leaders of internationalization, enhanced by virtual reality. Speakers like Karol Jędrasiak, Nina Turčin, Ayşe Deniz Özkan and Lucius Botes discussed the potential of VR to revolutionize training and address skill gaps in international offices. Students also participated in VR workshops, offering them an immersive and practical learning experience.
Solomon Kunle Omogbemi, a lecturer and international relations expert at WSB University, delivered a thought-provoking presentation on developing contextualized learning experiences. Solomon's approach encouraged teamwork and dialogue, helping participants create adaptable educational frameworks that could be applied within their own institutions.
As part of the 7th InterUni Forum, a significant debate took place on the potential of the VR4Skills project to revolutionize training for international relations experts. The discussion, moderated by Paweł Urgacz, brought together experts such as Ayşe Deniz Özkan (Istanbul Aydin University), Griet Barrezeele (UC LEUVEN), Karol Jędrasiak (WSB University) and Lucius Botes (North West University). The panel explored how virtual reality can be leveraged to close skills gaps, enhance professional development, and improve the training of administrative staff in international offices. The debate underscored the transformative potential of VR in shaping the future of higher education management and internationalization.
The event was supported by international partners like DOBA Business School, Istanbul Aydin University, UC LEUVEN, Businet, Avans University of Applied Sciences, Romanian-American University and Polytechnic Institute of Porto. The forum concluded with sightseeing tours and networking dinners, all aimed at shaping the future of global education.
