A Scientific Bridge Between Poland and Vietnam – discussions on psychiatry and joint research

Prof. Marek Krzystanek, MD, PhD, DSc, Head of the Department of Psychiatry and Clinical and Environmental Psychology at the Collegium Medicum of WSB University, met during his stay in Vietnam with the Vice-Rector of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City, Prof. Tran Cong Thang. The meeting was the first step toward signing a Memorandum of Understanding between this University and WSB University. During the meeting, possibilities for the development of psychiatry in Vietnam based on Polish experience were discussed, particularly with regard to community psychiatry, as well as scientific cooperation in basic research in psychopharmacology. 

Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy is one of the most important medical universities in Vietnam, operating since 1947 in Ho Chi Minh City. It educates students in fields such as medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, public health, and nursing. The University has its own teaching hospital and cooperates with numerous medical institutions.
