Ceremonial Gala of First-Cycle Studies at WSB University

At the Auditorium Maximum of WSB University in Dąbrowa Górnicza, a ceremonial diploma award gala was held for graduates of first-cycle degree programmes of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Collegium Medicum – Faculty of Medicine, and the Faculty in Olkusz. The event was attended by graduates of the following programmes: Nursing, Emergency Medical Services, National Security, Economics, Philology, Finance and Accounting, Computer Science, Management Engineering, Logistics, Pedagogy, Psychology, Pre-school and Early Childhood Education, Sociology, Transport, and Management.

The ceremony had a special character – it was not only a moment marking the formal completion of studies, but also a symbolic entry of the graduates into the next stage of their professional lives. The event was attended by representatives of the University authorities, academic staff, thesis supervisors, partners of WSB University, and the graduates’ relatives.

The gala was opened by Professor Marcin Lis, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and External Relations, who in his speech emphasised the importance of the knowledge acquired, practical competences, and readiness to take on professional challenges. He also referred to the successes of students and graduates of WSB University, as well as to the role of the University in preparing specialists who respond to the needs of the contemporary labour market and social environment.

One of the key points of the programme was the presentation of distinctions for the best diploma theses and for very high academic performance. In the 2025/2026 academic year, upon the recommendation of supervisors and reviewers, the Rector of WSB University awarded distinctions to the authors of 32 diploma theses, and 13 graduates received distinctions for very good academic results.

A particularly important moment of the ceremony was the professional oath taken by graduates of the Emergency Medical Services programme. It was a solemn act confirming their readiness to provide assistance in situations of sudden threat to health and life, and to practise their profession in accordance with the highest ethical and professional standards.

The professional oath of Nursing graduates also had a special significance, followed by the ceremonial capping ceremony. This is one of the most symbolic moments on the path to becoming a nurse – a sign of admission to the professional community and confirmation of readiness to provide responsible and professional patient care.

The artistic setting of the event was enriched by a performance by Antoni Zimnal, a jazz vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, finalist of “The Voice of Poland”. An important highlight of the gala was also the performance of the nursing anthem by the International Band of WSB University – AWeSomeBand.
The awarding of diplomas was a unique moment marking the culmination of years of study, work, and commitment, as well as a formal confirmation of qualifications opening the way to further professional development.
The gala of first-cycle graduates at WSB University in Dąbrowa Górnicza was a summary of an important stage of the educational journey and an event that emphasised the significance of the qualifications obtained and the responsibility associated with entering professional life.
We congratulate all Graduates and wish you success in your future endeavours!
