Diplomas, distinctions, and a new stage. The Graduation Gala of WSB University in Kraków

The ceremonial diploma award gala for first- and second-cycle graduates of WSB University in Kraków brought together the academic community in the unique setting of the Polish Aviation Museum. The event was attended by graduates of the following fields of study: national security, management, and management engineering. It was an evening that combined the solemn character of academic tradition with the symbolic beginning of the next stage in the lives of our graduates. 

The ceremony was opened by Professor Łukasz Sułkowski, President of WSB University, who welcomed the assembled guests, including representatives of the university authorities, thesis supervisors, and graduates. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of the knowledge and competencies acquired, as well as the responsibility associated with their application in professional life. 

One of the most important moments of the gala was the presentation of distinctions to the authors of the best diploma theses and to graduates with the highest academic results. In the academic year 2025/2026, upon the recommendation of supervisors and reviewers, the Rector of WSB University honored 16 diploma theses and 4 individuals for outstanding academic achievements. 

Among those awarded for the highest grade point average were: 

  • Eng. Natalia Stróżik – Management Engineering, thesis entitled “Analysis and evaluation of logistical crisis management in agriculture in the Małopolskie Voivodeship by the Agency for Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture” 
  • Eng. Justyna Janik – Management Engineering, thesis entitled “Analysis of the selection of means of transport for tourism travel purposes” 
  • BA Paweł Fiołek – National Security, thesis entitled “Money laundering methods used by Mexican drug cartels. Analysis of selected cases of Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación and the Sinaloa Cartel” 
  • MA Wiktoria Walczyk – Management, thesis entitled “Implemented IT software Jira supporting Lean Management project management for task prioritization in the area of employee motivation to increase work efficiency in project management, based on the example of an IT company from the Kraków district” 

Distinctions for the best diploma theses were awarded to: 

  • Eng. Filip Jończy – Management Engineering, thesis entitled “Analysis of surface roughness parameters in CNC machining in order to automate the simulation of execution times and optimize the production process.” 
  • Eng. Paweł Sadowski – Management Engineering, thesis entitled “The impact of automation of welding processes on production quality and efficiency.” 
  • Eng. Tomasz Grabowski – Management Engineering, thesis entitled “Analysis and evaluation of logistical support in transport processes in the Municipal Transport Company in Kraków” 
  • Eng. Dominika Ziemba – Management Engineering, thesis entitled “Improving the activities of a freight forwarder in the field of road transport planning through the use of transport exchanges” 
  • BA Zuzanna Felsmann – National Security, thesis entitled “Analysis of the critical infrastructure protection system based on crisis management in the municipality of Niepołomice” 
  • MA Dawid Kądziela – Management, thesis entitled “Application of Lean Manufacturing tools in optimizing small-batch production processes in the electronics manufacturing industry, based on the example of Semicon Sp. z o.o.” 
  • MA Katarzyna Wójcik – Management, thesis entitled “The concept of Lean Management culture as an optimization of logistics processes in a retail network, based on the example of a Carrefour hypermarket in Kraków” 

The scope of the topics undertaken reflects the practical profile of education and a focus on current social and economic challenges. 

The culminating part of the event was the awarding of diplomas to the graduates, constituting formal confirmation of the completion of studies and the acquisition of qualifications preparing them for work in selected professional fields. 

After the official part, participants listened to an exceptional concert performed by artists of the Karol Szymanowski Philharmonic in Kraków. The program included, among others, works by Antonio Vivaldi, George Frideric Handel, and Ennio Morricone. 
The Graduation Gala in Kraków was a summary of several years of education and a moment of transition to the next stage of professional and personal development.
