Dr Eng. Karol Jędrasiak, Deputy Director of the Technology Transfer Centre at WSB University, has been appointed to the Management Committees of two new European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) Actions: CA25157 AI-GUIDE and CA25145 SEARCH. In each of these Actions, Dr Eng. Karol Jędrasiak is one of two Management Committee members representing Poland. The Management Committee is the body responsible for coordinating, implementing and managing a COST Action. COST Actions are four-year international cooperation networks that bring together researchers, representatives of public institutions, businesses, social organisations and other entities involved in science and innovation. COST primarily funds cooperation, knowledge exchange, mobility, workshops, conferences, training schools and short-term scientific missions.
The first of the Actions is CA25157 AI-GUIDE, or AI-Governance, Use, and Impact for a Dynamic European R&I Ecosystem. Its objective is to develop principles for the responsible, trustworthy and inclusive use of generative artificial intelligence in the European research and innovation system. The network will bring together experts representing universities, research institutions, science funding bodies, publishers, public administration, businesses and professional organisations. Among other activities, AI-GUIDE participants will work on practical guidelines for the use of generative artificial intelligence in scientific activity, a repository of verified tools and use cases, and solutions enabling the safe testing of AI technologies. Training, the exchange of experience and the development of young researchers’ competencies will also form an important part of the activities. The AI-GUIDE Action will begin on 8 September 2026 and will run until 7 September 2030.
The second Action is CA25145 SEARCH, or Simulation Education And Research Collaborative in Healthcare. SEARCH will develop European cooperation in the field of simulation in healthcare. Medical simulation encompasses methods of reproducing clinical events and environments for the purposes of education, competence assessment, improving the quality of care, enhancing patient safety and conducting research. The Action will bring together researchers, clinicians, industry representatives, public administration representatives, scientific societies and patient organisations. Its participants will work to reduce the fragmentation of European research in this area, identify barriers to knowledge transfer, develop openly accessible tools and prepare a European research agenda on simulation in healthcare. The SEARCH Action will begin on 14 October 2026 and will continue until 13 October 2030.
The membership of a WSB University representative in further COST Management Committees creates new opportunities for the development of international scientific and educational cooperation.
