WSB University consistently engages in initiatives supporting the development of education in fields related to security, actively participating in dialogue between the academic community and institutions responsible for public safety.
On April 24, 2026, an educational conference entitled “The concept of educating students in uniformed-profile classes for recruitment into service in the Police and the Border Guard, based on the 100 years of experience of the Zakład Doskonalenia Zawodowego w Katowicach – the oldest vocational education institution in Silesia” was held at the headquarters of the Voivodeship Police Headquarters in Katowice.
WSB University was represented by Professor Marcin Lis, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Cooperation with the Environment.
The event was organized as part of the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the Zakład Doskonalenia Zawodowego w Katowicach and was held under the honorary patronage of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration. The organizing committee included representatives of key institutions, among them Honorary President of ZDZ Jacek Kwiatkowski, President of ZDZ Halina Kasznia, Voivodeship Police Commander Inspector General Mariusz Krzystyniak, and Commander of the Silesian Border Guard Unit Brigadier General SG Andrzej Jakubaszek.
The event was attended by representatives of the educational community, uniformed services, and a large group of cadets from the Silesian and Lesser Poland voivodeships. The meeting forms part of WSB University’s activities aimed at improving the quality of education and building a coherent system for preparing young people to serve in public service.
