In Tribute to the Defenders of the Homeland - WSB University at Veterans Day in Czeladź

On 24 May, official celebrations of the Veterans Day of Operations Outside the State Borders took place in Czeladź. The event was dedicated to individuals who served representing the Republic of Poland in military missions and activities supporting international security.

For another consecutive year, WSB University participated in the celebrations, emphasising its commitment to the development of security education, cooperation with the uniformed services community, and building civic awareness among young people and adults.

The event brought together representatives of authorities, uniformed services, and local residents. The University’s presence provided an opportunity to discuss the education of future personnel for the security sector, administration, uniformed services, and institutions responsible for responding to contemporary challenges. At the University’s promotional stand, participants could learn about the offer of full-time, part-time, and postgraduate studies, as well as obtain information about degree programmes and admission procedures.

Particular importance was also attached to supporting young people interested in defence-related topics. WSB University funded prizes for the winners of a tournament organised by the Military Recruitment Centre in Będzin. The first-place winner received a bronze index granting admission to studies.

The awards were presented by Professor Marek Walancik, Director of the Centre for Research and Education of Uniformed Services at WSB University, and Colonel Tomasz Wilk, Head of the Military Recruitment Centre in Będzin.

WSB University’s participation in the Veterans Day celebrations forms part of the University’s activities promoting knowledge about security, patriotic values, and responsibility for the community. It is also an expression of respect for soldiers and veterans whose service contributed to protecting peace and security beyond the country’s borders.

We would like to thank all participants of the event for their presence, conversations, and for jointly paying tribute to the defenders of the Homeland.
