It was an evening full of emotions, pride, and symbolic moments. In Dąbrowa Górnicza, the ceremonial Graduation Gala for international students of WSB University took place—an event that once again demonstrated the strength and diversity of our international academic community.
The ceremony was opened by the President of WSB University, Prof. Dr. hab. Łukasz Sułkowski, who emphasized the importance of knowledge, competencies, and responsibility with which graduates are now entering the next stage of their professional and personal lives.
On the stage of the Auditorium Maximum stood graduates of programs such as International Relations, Management, Computer Science, Engineering Management, as well as Financial Management and Accounting. These are individuals whose stories began in different parts of the world, and who wrote an important chapter of their educational journey at WSB University in Dąbrowa Górnicza and Kraków.
A special element of the ceremony was the recognition of graduates for outstanding academic achievements. In the 2025/2026 academic year, at the request of supervisors and reviewers, the Rector of WSB University awarded distinctions to the authors of 30 diploma theses. Additionally, 9 graduates were honored for achieving a very high grade point average.
Among those awarded were, among others, Irish Erica Miranda, who received the Ambassador of Positive Energy Award as well as a distinction for a very high GPA in the International Relations program, and Lea Sina, honored with the Global Spirit Award for representing WSB University internationally and for high academic performance in the Computer Science program.
The group of graduates distinguished for the highest GPA also included:
- Mammad Askarov from the Computer Science program, who was additionally recognized for his master’s thesis titled Time Series Analysis for Stock Market Prediction: Focus on the NASDAQ Market, prepared under the supervision of Prof. AWSB Dr. Eng. Bartłomiej Zieliński;
- Altay Nurumkhan from the International Relations program, also recognized for his bachelor’s thesis on employee motivation management based on the example of McDonald’s, written under the supervision of Prof. AWSB Dr. Oleksandr Dorofieiev;
- Vusal Ahmadov from the Management program, who was also distinguished for his thesis titled Designing Digital Solutions for Mental Well-being in Banks, prepared under the supervision of Dr. Andrii Kotlyk.
Distinctions for a high GPA were also awarded to Adil Heybatov and Azim Ashrafli from the Management program, Zahid Gadimov from the Financial Management and Accounting program, and Nigar Rustamova from the Engineering Management program.
During the ceremony, awards and congratulations were presented by representatives of the University authorities together with lecturers and supervisors, emphasizing the important role that relationships with mentors, thesis advisors, and academic teachers play in students’ academic journeys.
