International Students Celebrate Their Graduation at WSB University

July was a month of graduation celebrations at WSB University, bringing together graduates, their families, academic staff and representatives of the University authorities. The ceremonies held across WSB University campuses provided an opportunity to celebrate academic achievements, reflect on the years of study and mark the beginning of a new chapter in the graduates’ professional and personal lives.

On 22 July 2026, the Auditorium Maximum at WSB University hosted the International Students’ Graduation Gala for first- and second-cycle degree graduates from the Dąbrowa Górnicza campus. The ceremony was a special occasion to celebrate years of learning, development and the acquisition of competences in an international academic environment.

The event brought together graduates of first-cycle degree programmes in International Relations, Management and Computer Science, as well as second-cycle degree programmes in Management, Computer Science, Financial Management and Accounting, and English in Management. The graduates were accompanied by representatives of the University authorities, thesis supervisors, academic staff, family members and friends.

The ceremony began with the entrance of the WSB University Senate procession. The guests were welcomed by Prof. Łukasz Sułkowski, President of WSB University, who emphasised the importance of the knowledge, skills and experience acquired in building the graduates’ future professional paths.

An important part of the gala was recognising individuals who had achieved very high academic results and prepared outstanding diploma theses. In the 2025/2026 academic year, at the request of supervisors and reviewers, the authors of 34 diploma theses were honoured. Seven graduates received awards for very good academic results, and two special awards were also presented.

The Global Spirit Award was presented to Benazir Akmatova for her outstanding representation of WSB University internationally and for her bachelor’s thesis entitled The Power of Storytelling in Sales: Case Study of Successful Brand Campaigns. The Ambassador of Positive Energy Award was presented to Percival Mahwaya, the author of the master’s thesis entitled Applying Machine Learning to Crime Hotspot Prediction: A Decision Support Model for Public Safety Resource Allocation.

During the gala, graduates with the highest grade point averages in their respective programmes were also recognised. The award recipients included Iryna Yarmoliuk, Emiliia Yakovlieva, Areeha Usman, Harsh Rawat, Amro Shehada, Turkan Shahbazova and Jenefer Yago.

The culmination of the ceremony was the presentation of diplomas by thesis supervisors and representatives of the University authorities. It was a time of emotion, congratulations and shared photographs, as well as a symbolic conclusion to an important stage of academic life.

Graduation celebrations also took place at WSB University in Kraków and Warsaw. On 18 July 2026, international students in Kraków celebrated the completion of their studies during a dedicated graduation gala. The ceremony was an opportunity to recognise their academic achievements and celebrate this important milestone together with the University community.

On 21 July 2026, graduates of the WSB University Faculty in Warsaw received their diplomas during a ceremony held at the Palace of Culture and Science. The event brought together Polish and international graduates, as well as representatives of the University authorities, academic staff, families and friends, to celebrate the successful completion of their studies.

The graduation ceremonies in Kraków, Warsaw and Dąbrowa Górnicza were a special opportunity to celebrate the achievements of WSB University graduates and mark the beginning of a new chapter in their professional and personal lives.
