WSB University hosted secondary school students during the Open Day, which took place on March 10 this year. It was an opportunity to become familiar with the educational offer, talk with lecturers, and experience what academic classes look like in practice. The event allowed participants to learn more about fields of study, admission rules, and development opportunities offered by the University.
The meeting began in the Auditorium Maximum, where participants were welcomed by Prof. Marcin Lis, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Cooperation with the Environment. The program also included a competition for participants and a lecture titled “Medicine & psychology – that is, how the body and mind conduct an endless conversation,” delivered by Katarzyna Zborowska, PhD in Health Sciences, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences.
The next part of the event consisted of thematic workshops conducted by WSB University lecturers. Students could choose classes corresponding to their interests and see what studying in different areas looks like. Among the prepared options were, among others, workshops on providing first aid, forensic science in combating crime, the use of artificial intelligence in film creation, art therapy, as well as classes concerning law in everyday life, modern technologies used in crisis management, work in uniformed services, and methods of creative problem solving.
During the visit, participants were also able to see the modern teaching infrastructure of WSB University, including the Prof. Kazimierz Imieliński Medical Simulation Center, the JAŚMIN Crisis Management Laboratory, professional cosmetology rooms, and language laboratories.
On the second floor of the building, information stands were also available, where participants could talk with staff from the admissions office, obtain information about scholarships, and learn about career development opportunities offered by the Academic Career Office.
The Open Day at WSB University was an opportunity for direct contact with the University community, to become familiar with its teaching facilities, and to gain practical information about studying.
