WSB University has established a new partnership with the Katowice branch of the National Association of Occupational Health and Safety Service Employees (Ogólnopolskie Stowarzyszenie Pracowników Służby BHP). The agreement opens the way for joint educational, scientific, and development initiatives focused on workplace safety and the training of specialists in this field.
The association was represented by Krystian Włosek, President of the Katowice branch of the organization. The agreement on behalf of WSB University was signed by Prof. Marcin Lis, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Cooperation with the External Environment. Agnieszka Lasota-Szkudlarek, Secretary of the Katowice branch of the association, also attended the meeting.
Under the partnership, both institutions will collaborate on educational, scientific, and research-and-development initiatives. Planned activities include the organization of postgraduate programmes, training sessions, and professional courses designed to enhance the qualifications of students and participants interested in occupational health and safety.
The partners also plan to work together on developing academic programmes and specializations aligned with the professional profiles of both institutions. In addition, they will co-organize conferences and seminars devoted to issues related to occupational safety and workplace health standards.
According to the university, the partnership represents another step in expanding WSB University’s activities in the field of occupational safety while strengthening its ties with industry experts and professional communities.
Invitation to the Second Silesian Debate on Occupational Safety
To mark the beginning of the cooperation, WSB University has invited participants to attend the Second Silesian Debate on Occupational Safety, scheduled for 5 March at the International Congress Centre in Katowice.
The event will be organized by the Katowice branch of the National Association of Occupational Health and Safety Service Employees, together with the organizer of the International Occupational Safety Fair in Katowice and the District Labour Inspectorate of the National Labour Inspectorate.
The debate will focus on current challenges and emerging trends in occupational health and safety. It is intended to create a platform for dialogue and the exchange of experience among representatives of public administration, business, academia, and occupational safety services.
The programme will include expert panels addressing topics such as the implementation of new legal regulations, the use of innovative technological solutions, and the development of safety culture within organizations. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn about best practices and examples of effective preventive measures in occupational safety.
