Polish Family 2046. WSB University a Partner of the Debate in the Senate of the Republic of Poland

How can demographic problems in Poland be effectively addressed and younger generations encouraged to start families larger than the 2+1 model? Among other issues, participants of the conference “Polish Family 2046. Scenarios of Change and Their Consequences for the Support System, Social Work and Social Services” sought answers to this question. WSB University was a partner of the event. The Senate of the Republic of Poland became the venue for the discussion involving experts, researchers, parliamentarians, and academic lecturers. “The family should be covered by the entirety of public policy, not only by its individual segments. We must be prepared for various scenarios of change. A network of Social Services Centers is being established in Poland. They are developing well within local communities because they make it possible to provide comprehensive support for the family in one place,” emphasized Prof. Marek Walancik, Head of the Department of Pedagogy at WSB University, during the discussion.

Prof. Zdzisława Dacko-Pikiewicz, Rector of WSB University, was a member of the honorary committee of the conference. The debate was organized by the Senate Committee on Family, Senior Policy and Social Affairs, chaired by Janina Sagatowska, with Deputy Chair Dr. habil. Ryszard Majer, Professor of the Jan Długosz University (UJD).
