Prof. Marcin Lis Receives the Honorary Badge for Merits to the Provincial Police Headquarters in Katowice

During the Provincial Police Day celebrations of the Silesian Garrison in Gliwice, Prof. Marcin Lis, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Cooperation with the External Environment at WSB University, was awarded the Honorary Badge for Merits to the Provincial Police Headquarters in Katowice.

The ceremony, organised to mark the 107th anniversary of the establishment of the Polish State Police, was an opportunity to thank police officers and civilian employees of the Police for their daily service, as well as to honour individuals and institutions supporting the activities of the Silesian Garrison.

Among those attending the event were: Marek Wójcik, Silesian Voivode; Senior Superintendent Rafał Kochańczyk, Deputy Chief Commander of the Police; Superintendent Jacek Stelmach, Deputy Provincial Police Commander in Katowice; Katarzyna Błaszczyk-Domańska, Director General of the Silesian Voivodeship Office in Katowice; Prof. Klaudiusz Nadolny, MD, PhD, Director of the Provincial Emergency Medical Service in Katowice; as well as Members of Parliament, representatives of local governments, uniformed services and institutions cooperating with the Police.

The central point of the ceremony was the oath-taking by 151 newly admitted police officers. State and ministerial decorations were also presented, along with appointments to higher police ranks.

Among those honoured was Prof. Marcin Lis, who said:

“I accept this distinction with immense gratitude and a sense of responsibility. For me, it is a valuable expression of recognition and motivation to continue working together for the security and development of our region.”

The awarded distinction recognises the Vice-Rector’s commitment and the initiatives undertaken to develop cooperation between WSB University and the Police, uniformed services, and public institutions.
