The 18th Edition of the Dąbrowa Górnicza Children's University Has Come to an End – A Year Full of Learning, Passion and Discovery

On 30 May, WSB University hosted the ceremonial closing of the 2025/2026 Academic Year of the Dąbrowa Górnicza Children's University. It was a special day filled with joy and pride in our youngest students, who throughout the year enthusiastically explored the world of science, developed their curiosity, and acquired new knowledge.

On behalf of the Rector of WSB University, Professor Zdzisława Dacko-Pikiewicz, participants were welcomed by Professor Katarzyna Szczepańska-Woszczyna, Vice-Rector for Science and Education.

The ceremony was attended by invited guests:

• Bożena Borowiec – Member of the Polish Parliament
• Barbara Dolniak – Member of the Polish Parliament
• Mateusz Bochenek – Member of the Polish Parliament
• Robert Warwas – Member of the Polish Parliament
• Marcin Bazylak – Mayor of Dąbrowa Górnicza
• Marta Bobrowska-Juroff – Chairwoman of the City Council of Dąbrowa Górnicza
• Krzysztof Pasek – Councillor of Będzin County
• Alicja Biegańska – Principal of Primary School No. 16 with Preschool Departments
• Aleksandra Downar-Liwoch – Director of Municipal Kindergarten No. 9

A special highlight of the programme was a lecture delivered by Superintendent Dr. Patryk Błasik, devoted to children's safety at home, at school, on the road, and during summer holidays.

The end-of-year ceremony also provided an opportunity to thank the children for their activity and commitment, and the parents and guardians for their trust and presence throughout the year. Words of appreciation were also addressed to the Lifelong Learning Department of WSB University for its professional organisational support.
