“Three Decades of Hope, Knowledge, and Growth” – WSB University Anniversary Featured in Business HUB

The June issue of Business HUB magazine, published by the Regional Chamber of Commerce in Katowice, included the article “Three Decades of Hope, Knowledge, and Growth – The Pearl Jubilee of WSB University.” The publication highlights the celebration of the University’s 30th anniversary, which took place at the Concert Hall of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice.

The authors recall the unique atmosphere of the gala, attended by over 1,800 guests from the worlds of academia, politics, culture, and business. The article features excerpts from speeches, including the words of the Rector of WSB University, Prof. Zdzisława Dacko-Pikiewicz, who emphasized the importance of the academic community:
“This is a time of great satisfaction with these three decades. Today, we can say that these years have been marked by bold decisions, profound emotions, and ahead of us lie new challenges. (…) WSB University is an institution that teaches hope. Human life is woven from hope – where there is hope, there are opportunities, and we make them real.”

The article also includes remarks from distinguished guests. Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education, Prof. Marek Gzik, spoke of “a beautiful story written by the University’s staff and students,” and recognized the institution’s international accreditations and strong standing on the map of Polish higher education. Silesian Voivode Marek Wójcik noted that WSB University is now “the most renowned non-public higher education institution in the region and in southern Poland,” while the Mayor of Katowice, Dr. Marcin Krupa, highlighted its significance for the development of the Metropolis.

The publication further recalls the University’s achievements and distinctions, its cooperation with prestigious institutions worldwide – such as Harvard University and CERN – as well as its ambitious plans for the future. The jubilee evening concluded with a concert by Piotr Rubik, “On the Wings of Dreams,” featuring the premiere performance of the WSB University anthem, with lyrics written by Jacek Cygan.
