Two Years of WSB University Research into Sabotage and Two Thousand People Trained

For two years, WSB University conducted a research study entitled “The Conditions of Contemporary Sabotage in the Context of the State’s Defence Preparations”. The study was initiated by two University units: the WSB University Centre for Research Methodology in Security Sciences and the WSB University Centre for Cross-Border Security Research.

The outcomes include a research report, over a dozen articles and chapters in monographs, numerous interviews in national media, as well as training sessions delivered at state institutions and in the private security sector, attended by approximately two thousand people.

The research was accompanied by academic meetings involving representatives of academic institutions from Poland, Ukraine, Germany and the United Kingdom, as well as public lectures delivered at universities in Poland, the United States and Nigeria.

The most recent of these meetings took place on 20 October and was opened by the Rector of WSB University in Dąbrowa Górnicza, Prof. Zdzisława Dacko-Pikiewicz. Participants included representatives of the National Police Headquarters, the State Protection Service and the Podkarpackie Voivodeship Office, as well as members of the study’s author team.

The project forms part of WSB University’s development strategy, under which the University addresses the challenges of the future, generates useful knowledge, sets trends and educates specialists capable of meeting these challenges, while remaining a valued partner for businesses and local governments. The research into sabotage, intended for central and local government administration, exemplifies the University’s role in serving the environment in which it operates, particularly in the field of Security Sciences.
