The WSB University Academic Gala of the Cieszyn Faculty is now behind us - a special ceremony during which graduates received their Bachelor's, Engineering, Master's and postgraduate diplomas. It was a moment to celebrate years of learning, hard work, and determination in pursuing ambitious goals, as well as an opportunity to recognise the authors of the best diploma theses and students who achieved the highest academic results.
The event was attended by numerous family members, friends, and loved ones who had supported the graduates throughout their studies and encouraged them in overcoming everyday challenges. The ceremony was also attended by representatives of the WSB University authorities, thesis supervisors, reviewers, and invited guests representing local government and public services.
The Gala began with the traditional entrance of the WSB University Senate. The guests were welcomed by Dr Edyta Nowak-Żółty, Dean of the Cieszyn Faculty. Among the distinguished guests were Gabriela Staszkiewicz, Mayor of Cieszyn, and Brigadier Michał Pokrzywa, District Commander of the State Fire Service in Cieszyn.

In her address, Dr Edyta Nowak-Żółty encouraged the graduates to be courageous, continue their personal and professional development, and consciously shape their own future.
“I encourage you to experiment, learn, embrace challenges, and push beyond your limits. Always treat failures as lessons. Build meaningful relationships and maintain a wise balance between your professional ambitions and your private life.”
– emphasised the Dean of the Cieszyn Faculty.
The presence of the graduates' loved ones was an important part of this success. Families and friends supported them during moments of fatigue, motivated them to continue their efforts, and often took over part of their everyday responsibilities. The shared photographs, congratulations, and emotions accompanying the presentation of diplomas served as a reminder that graduating from university is often a success achieved by the entire family.
Upon the recommendation of thesis supervisors and reviewers, the Rector of WSB University, Prof. Zdzisława Dacko-Pikiewicz, granted distinctions to 49 graduates. During the ceremony, 37 graduates received their distinctions in person. The awarded diploma theses addressed current and significant social, economic, and organisational challenges.
Among the topics explored by the graduates were road safety in Cieszyn County, emergency response during the 2024 floods in Cieszyn, the risks associated with online hate among school students in Istebna, and factors influencing the professional development of women in Cieszyn County.
The distinguished theses also covered issues related to cybercrime, forensic science, digital transformation, occupational stress, employee recruitment and motivation, quality management, education, and the use of modern technologies in businesses. Their practical character confirms that research conducted by WSB University students responds to the real needs of organisations, public institutions, and local communities.

Special recognition was also given to students actively involved in the activities of the Save the World International Student Research Club. Danylo Vysotskyi, Karolina Haratyk, Katarzyna Parada, and Julia Błahut were honoured for their commitment, responsibility, initiative, and contribution to the development of the academic community.

During the Gala, postgraduate graduates also received their diplomas in the fields of finance and accounting, managerial postgraduate studies at MBA level, sustainable development and ESG, project management, occupational health and safety management, HR and payroll, sensory integration with hand therapy, neurological speech therapy, and speech therapy.
Among the participants were also local government employees who completed the postgraduate programme in finance and accounting delivered by WSB University in cooperation with the Beskidzka Agglomeration Association.
The official part of the event concluded with a musical surprise. The audience enjoyed a performance by tenor Oskar Jasiński, a graduate of the Vocal and Acting Faculty of the Academy of Music in Katowice and a laureate of international vocal competitions.
The Academic Gala concluded with a group photograph of the graduates. The ceremony, held in Ustroń, was not only a symbolic conclusion of an important stage of education, but also a confirmation that a WSB University diploma represents acquired knowledge, perseverance, ambition, and readiness to embrace new challenges.
