Historic Success for WSB University. Our University Among the Global Leaders in Sustainable Development According to the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2026
The latest edition of the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2026 has brought a significant advancement for WSB University, including an impressive 88th place worldwide in the category of Reduced Inequalities.
In the overall ranking, WSB University was placed in the 401–600 band among the world’s leading universities. According to the latest data from the World Higher Education Database, there are currently approximately 22,000 accredited higher education institutions across 196 countries.
The Impact Rankings is the only global ranking that measures universities’ real contribution to achieving the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — from reducing poverty to improving education quality and strengthening institutions. In other words, it evaluates not how well-known a university is, but the tangible impact it has on society and the economy.
WSB University’s strongest performance was recorded in SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities, where it ranked 88th in the world. This places the University among the global top 100 institutions in an area covering equal opportunities, accessibility of education, social inclusion, and support for diversity.
WSB University also achieved rankings in the 201–300 band worldwide for three Sustainable Development Goals:
- SDG 5 – Gender Equality
- SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth
- SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions
Strong results were also recorded for SDG 1 – No Poverty (401–600 band) and SDG 4 – Quality Education (401–600 band). Areas requiring more extensive research and infrastructure capacity achieved lower placements, including SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals and SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being (801–1000 band)
In Poland, WSB University was classified in the second-highest ranking category, alongside institutions such as Gdańsk University of Technology and Silesian University of Technology, ranking behind only Gdańsk University of Technology in the overall classification.
In practice, this means that WSB University is among the highest-ranked universities in Poland and holds a leading position among non-public universities in the country.
Over recent years, the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings has become the most influential international tool for assessing the social responsibility and sustainable development impact of higher education institutions.
