WSB University once again among sustainability leaders – success in THE Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026

WSB University has once again confirmed its strong position in international higher education by achieving excellent results in the THE Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026 – a prestigious Times Higher Education assessment system measuring universities’ impact on the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The THE Sustainability Impact Ratings is a global university assessment system that comprehensively analyses institutions’ contribution to building a more sustainable world through education, research, social engagement and cooperation with the external environment. This year’s edition assessed 1,646 universities from 116 countries and territories, analysing their achievements across the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and in the overall classification.

In this year’s edition, WSB University was ranked in the 401–600 band among the best universities in the world, confirming its place among institutions actively shaping the future of responsible education and sustainable development. Akademia WSB was also ranked 2nd ex aequo among Polish universities included in the ranking.

A particular source of pride is the University’s performance in individual SDG areas. WSB University was ranked 88th in the world in the Reduced Inequalities category (SDG 10), confirming its long-standing commitment to creating an open, accessible and inclusive academic environment for students from all over the world.

The University also achieved impressive results in other categories:

• 201–300 in the world in Gender Equality (SDG 5),
• 201–300 in the world in Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8),
• 201–300 in the world in Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions (SDG 16),
• 401–600 in the world in No Poverty (SDG 1), Quality Education (SDG 4) and Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11),
• 601–800 in the world in Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17).

These outstanding results are the outcome of WSBU’s consistently implemented development strategy, which includes internationalisation, high-quality education, research development, cooperation with the socio-economic environment, and activities supporting equality, diversity and social responsibility. For many years, the University has been actively involved in initiatives promoting sustainable development, as reflected in numerous international projects, partnerships with universities from around the world, and activities undertaken for the benefit of local and global communities.

This achievement is further proof that WSB University successfully combines a modern approach to education with responsibility for the future of society and the environment. The results of the THE Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026 confirm that the University belongs to the group of global higher education leaders which, through education, research and cooperation, make a real contribution to building a better and more sustainable world.
