WSB University Among the Experts at CYBERSEC EXPO & FORUM 2026

The expert voice of WSB University was heard during CYBERSEC EXPO & FORUM 2026 - one of the most important events in Central and Eastern Europe dedicated to cybersecurity, new technologies, and digital resilience.

The forum, held on 15–16 June 2026 at the International Congress Centre and Spodek Arena in Katowice, brought together representatives of academia, public administration, business, technology, and the security sector. The discussions focused on topics including artificial intelligence, cyber warfare, the NIS2 and DORA regulations, critical infrastructure protection, and the role of digital competencies in building the resilience of states and organisations.

One of the key items on the programme was the expert panel entitled “Education as a Shield. The Academic Sector in Times of Change”, which featured Dr Eng. Krystian Mączka - Data Protection Officer, Internal Auditor of the Information Security Management System, and Lecturer at WSB University.

The debate focused on the role of higher education institutions as an important component of the national cybersecurity system. Experts discussed how the academic sector should respond to new regulatory, technological, and organisational requirements – from securing IT systems and implementing the provisions of the National Cybersecurity System (KSC), to educating professionals capable of responding to contemporary digital threats.

In his presentation, Dr Eng. Krystian Mączka emphasised the importance of awareness, knowledge, and a systemic approach to information security. He highlighted that the cyber resilience of universities depends not only on technology, but also on people’s competencies, procedures, organisational responsibility, and everyday practices related to data protection and incident response.

Participation in CYBERSEC EXPO & FORUM 2026 confirms the University’s active presence in the debate on the future of digital security, education, and the competencies required in a world shaped by new technologies. It also reflects WSB University’s consistent development of expertise in the fields of cybersecurity, data protection, information security management, and practice-oriented education that responds to the needs of the contemporary labour market and public institutions.

At WSB University, education does not end with theory. Students acquire knowledge in an environment that combines academic learning with practical experience, and classes are taught by professionals who actively participate in expert debates and projects addressing the most important challenges of the modern world.
