WSB University and Johnson Matthey Poland Begin Cooperation
Joint research and development projects, professional internships, the development of study programmes and initiatives supporting students in the labour market – these are just some of the activities envisaged under the cooperation agreement concluded between WSB University and Johnson Matthey Poland.
The agreement was signed by Prof. Marcin Lis, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Cooperation with the External Environment at WSB University, and Konrad Pszowski, Plant Manager, CA Plant Management - Eastern Europe, Johnson Matthey Poland.
The meeting was also attended by Ludomiła Kulawik - HR Director at Johnson Matthey Poland, Aleksandra Klimek-Lakomy, PhD, Attorney-at-Law - Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences at WSB University, and Grzegorz Matuszek, PhD - Vice-Dean for Education.
Johnson Matthey is an international technology company with a history spanning more than 200 years, specialising, among other areas, in solutions based on platinum group metals. The company operates in numerous markets around the world, with one of its manufacturing facilities located in Gliwice.
The cooperation will combine WSB University’s academic and teaching potential with Johnson Matthey Poland’s business expertise. The partners plan, among other activities, to jointly implement educational, academic, and research and development projects; organise professional internships, training courses, conferences and seminars; and cooperate in developing specialisations and study programmes that respond to the needs of today’s labour market.
Another important area of the partnership will involve activities carried out in cooperation with the WSB University Career Office, including study visits, meetings with industry practitioners, recruitment events, training courses and mentoring programmes.
This marks another step in strengthening WSB University’s cooperation with the business community and creating opportunities for students to gain practical experience while still pursuing their studies.
