From April 14 to 16, 2025, the campus of WSB University transformed into a galaxy of innovation, creativity, and sustainability. The international bootcamp G4C WARS - The Sustainability Game Rebellion brought together over 50 students and 10 academic staff members from across Europe for an unforgettable educational adventure.
Inspired by the universe of Star Wars, the event reimagined the industrial legacy of Silesia as a backdrop for transformation. Once a powerhouse of coal and steel, the region now faces the challenge of transitioning to a greener future. Students stepped into the role of “Sustainability Rebels,” crafting innovative solutions to real-world problems through the lens of entrepreneurship and gamification.
The three-day program was packed with dynamic activities. On the first day, participants explored the “dark side” of modern challenges and engaged in creative ideation sessions, followed by a visit to the interactive Museum of Games. The second day focused on refining ideas, learning about sustainable business practices, and designing game-based solutions. In the evening, students discovered the cultural richness of Silesia with a visit to the Silesian Museum and the city center. The final day featured a crisis simulation game, final prototyping, and the highly anticipated Pitch Battle, where teams presented their projects and competed for top honors.
The bootcamp was more than just a learning experience - it was a celebration of collaboration, diversity, and forward-thinking. Students developed entrepreneurial mindsets, learned to work in international teams, and embraced the values of social impact and environmental responsibility.
The event was proudly organized and hosted by WSB University, with key contributions from Paweł Urgacz, Dean for Internationalization, Denis Spahija, Deputy Head of the International Cooperation Office, Solomon Kunle Omogbemi, a lecturer at WSB University and Małgorzata Małecka-Tomala, a lecturer at WSB University who led engaging workshops for the participants. Their dedication and leadership were instrumental in making the bootcamp a success.
As the motto of the event declared: “May the Force of Innovation be with you!” - and it truly was.
