A new stage of academic development, inspiring lectures and further opportunities to conduct research - WSB University ceremonially inaugurated the 2026/2027 academic year for its doctoral students. This year’s ceremony held particular significance. Two inaugural lectures formed an important part of the ceremony. The first, entitled “A Doctorate as a Turning Point in Professional and Personal Life”, was delivered by Professor Łukasz Sułkowski, who addressed the significance of a doctorate for professional and personal development.

The second lecture, “A Question of Two Rationalities, the Hero of Emptiness, and the Meaning of Scientific Research”, was delivered by Professor Mirosława Nowak-Dziemianowicz, directing participants’ attention towards reflection on the essence and significance of scientific activity.

Later in the programme, doctoral students met with the chairs of the Academic Discipline Councils and the heads of WSB University’s Doctoral School and Doctoral Seminar. Seminars and lectures were also organised on topics including research methodology, the master–student relationship, security, and contemporary challenges in the engineering and social sciences.
