As the leader of the Q-Helix - European University Alliance, WSB University has for nearly three years been co-creating one of the most ambitious initiatives of the European Commission in the field of higher education.
Today, the European Universities Initiative is among the most important projects implemented by the European Union within the academic sector. Across Europe, there are currently only 73 such alliances, bringing together several hundred higher education institutions cooperating in the areas of education, research, mobility, and innovation. WSB University is proud to serve as the leader of one of them - the Q-Helix Alliance.
On 4–5 May 2026, representatives of partner universities met at the University of Prešov (Slovakia) during another strategic meeting of the Q-Helix International Center for Quality in Education and Research.
The meeting had both a working and strategic character. During the sessions, the partners worked on the further development of common quality standards in education and research, the preparation of new international projects, and the planning of Alliance activities for the coming months of 2026.
The programme included, among others:
- development of common quality standards within the Alliance,
- preparation of research mobilities for scientists,
- development of joint projects under the Horizon Europe programme,
- development of micro-credentials and COIL-type activities,
- organisation of international conferences and thematic schools,
- strengthening of international Q-Helix research groups,
- training on the preparation of Horizon Europe projects for European University Alliances.

The meeting in Prešov was an extremely intensive and productive time. The partners unanimously emphasised that a very active year lies ahead for the Alliance – involving new research projects, educational activities, international events, and further strengthening of cooperation between partner universities.
WSB University, as the leader of Q-Helix, consistently develops an international partnership based on quality, innovation, and cross-sectoral cooperation, building a strong position for the Alliance within the European higher education ecosystem.
The meeting is carried out thanks to financial support from the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA).
