WSB University Students Participate in Two International Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programmes in the Netherlands

At the turn of June and July, WSB University once again demonstrated its strong commitment to international education by participating in two Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) hosted by HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht in the Netherlands.

These international initiatives provided WSB University students with an excellent opportunity to broaden their academic knowledge, develop practical competencies, and collaborate with peers from universities across Europe.

Between 26 June and 3 July 2026, five WSB University students participated in the "Leadership in Practice" BIP, while from 26 June to 6 July 2026, one student represented the University in the "EU: Off the Beaten Track" programme. In addition to student participation, WSB University also contributed academically by delivering lectures within both programmes.

The "Leadership in Practice" BIP focused on developing leadership as a practical, personal, and collaborative competence. Rather than treating leadership solely as a formal role, the programme encouraged participants to understand it as a responsibility grounded in self-awareness, initiative, and effective collaboration. Through interactive workshops, experiential learning, coaching sessions, reflective discussions, and practical team challenges, students strengthened essential leadership competencies, including decision-making, communication, conflict management, teamwork, and self-management. Working in international and interdisciplinary teams, participants also designed and organised a joint international evening programme, allowing them to apply leadership skills in a real-world setting while developing confidence and intercultural competence.

The "EU: Off the Beaten Track" BIP offered students the opportunity to explore lesser-known and often overlooked dimensions of European Union law and governance. The programme went beyond traditional EU studies by addressing specialised topics such as the limits of EU competences, institutional authority, labour mobility, the European Economic Area (EEA), human rights protection, and the legal status of foreign nationals within the European Union. Participants attended lectures delivered by international experts, engaged in critical discussions, developed analytical and research skills, and collaborated in multicultural teams to create educational knowledge clips, combining academic learning with practical international cooperation.

Both programmes placed a strong emphasis on international collaboration, intercultural dialogue, and experiential learning. Students worked alongside peers from partner universities representing several European countries, exchanging ideas, learning from different perspectives, and building valuable international networks. These experiences strengthened not only their academic knowledge but also their communication skills, cultural awareness, adaptability, and ability to work effectively in diverse international environments.

Participation in these Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programmes reflects WSB University's strategic commitment to internationalisation and to providing students with innovative learning opportunities that combine academic excellence with practical experience. By actively engaging in international educational initiatives, WSB University continues to prepare its students for successful careers in an increasingly interconnected world while strengthening its cooperation with leading European higher education institutions.
