WSB University with funding for students of medical programmes under the National Recovery Plan

WSB University is implementing the project titled “Non-repayable support for students of Nursing and Emergency Medical Services – Edition 2”, financed from the funds of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (KPO).

Based on a decision of the Ministry of Health, the University obtained funding in the amount of PLN 558,550.00, which will be allocated to support 30 first-cycle (Bachelor’s degree) students in the following programmes:

  • Nursing,
  • Emergency Medical Services.

Financial support for students of medical programmes is not only real assistance in access to education, but also an important element of an incentive system that increases interest in medical studies and allows for effective counteracting of staff shortages in the healthcare system.

“Thanks to the funds from the National Recovery Plan, we can responsibly support the development of future professionals of the healthcare system,” emphasizes Professor Zdzisława Dacko-Pikiewicz, Rector of WSB University.

The support is non-repayable and constitutes co-financing of education costs (a subsidy towards tuition fees). Students who began their studies on 1 October 2023 will receive reimbursement of tuition fees for the period from the start of their studies until 30 June 2026. The implementation of the project aligns with the strategic activities of WSB University aimed at:

  • developing education in medical programmes,
  • increasing accessibility of studies for future healthcare system professionals,
  • improving the quality of education in line with the assumptions of the National Recovery Plan.

The project is carried out under the initiative titled “Non-repayable support for students of Nursing, Midwifery, and Emergency Medical Services – Edition 2”, which forms part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (KPO), Component D: Efficiency, accessibility and quality of the healthcare system, Investment D2.1.1 “Investments related to the modernization and equipping of educational facilities and increasing the number of people undertaking medical studies.”
