Arrival and Basic Information

If you are a student of our campus in Kraków (and you will use the option of flying to Poland) most probably you will land in our international airport Kraków John Paul II International Airport (Kraków Airport Balice).

The airport in itself is not very big, but it is comfortable and easy to get around by. Just in case, we want to remind our international students that you have to have your travel documents on yourself at all times in order to avoid any confusion during the entrance checkups.

Getting to the city from the airport is as easy as it gets. The public buses go straight from the airport to the city quite frequently and cost about 6 PLN for a single ticket (without the student discount).

The ticket can be purchased at a special ticket machine, which you will find in the arrivals hall or outside the airport nearby the bus stop. The machines accept both cash and card payment options.

Make sure to switch your language to English and choose the 60-minute or 90-minute ticket option depending on your journey.

We know you are a student and are eligible for a student discount but until you have your student ID, unfortunately, you will not be able to buy the discounted ticket. Doing so might result in a fine, so be careful!

Public transport buses that connect the airport with Kraków include lines 300 and 209 (and the night bus 902). You can see the schedule for the buses here: https://www.krakowairport.pl/en/passenger/transport-en/directions/from-to-krakow-airport/public-buses-en

From Kraków Airport or the city center, you can travel to any part of the city by using Jakdojade. This portal is available for smartphones (click here for Android or here for IOS) or via the link below: https://jakdojade.pl/krakow/trasa

We recommend you install the application on your phone and connect your credit or debit card to be able to buy your tickets with ease and always be aware of how to get from point A to point B. So don't get lost!

Just in case, you can find some useful Polish phrases here: https://www.krakow.pl/english/visit_krakow/233504,artykul,useful_phrases.html.

They will help during those first few days. We know they will be rather hard but you can do it!

And quite important - please save the emergency numbers listed below:

112 The general help line/emergency line. You can call to this number in case of any emergencies and the people from the info line will immediately switch you to the relevant bodies.
