The main goal of the International Security specialisation is to prepare you to understand and analyse contemporary security threats at a global scale and to make decisions in a dynamic international environment.

The programme is taught in English within a unique, multicultural academic setting. This allows you to develop, already during your studies, the competencies required to work in international organisations and global security institutions.

During your studies, you will:

• learn the key theories and concepts of international security and apply them to the analysis of real-world events,
• understand the mechanisms behind contemporary armed conflicts and international crises,
• develop the ability to analyse global threats – from military conflicts to cyberattacks and information warfare,
• gain skills in intelligence work and data analysis (including OSINT),
• explore the strategies of terrorist organisations and modern counter-terrorism methods,
• understand how key security institutions such as NATO, the European Union, and the United Nations operate,
• learn how to assess risk and respond to crisis situations in the international environment.

Knowledge:

• The student has structured knowledge of international security theory, contemporary threats, and the functioning of security systems at global and regional levels.

Skills:

• The student is able to analyse the causes, course, and consequences of international conflicts using appropriate analytical tools.
• The student identifies and assesses risks in the international environment, including military, cyber, and hybrid threats.
• The student uses basic methods of data and information analysis (including open-source intelligence) to formulate conclusions regarding security.
