Microbiology and Microscopy Laboratory
The Microbiology and Microscopy Laboratory enables students to prepare for the use of modern medical analytical methods by learning how to order and properly interpret diagnostic test results.
The laboratory is equipped, among others, with: a spectrophotometer, microscopes, advanced sets of stains and microscopic preparation tools, laboratory benches, and laboratory glassware, including Petri dishes, bacteriological test tubes of various sizes, bacteriological pipettes, graduated cylinders and volumetric flasks, glass tubes, beakers, funnels, microscope slides and cover slips, as well as a fume hood.
Microscopy and Histology Laboratory
The Microscopy and Histology Laboratory is equipped with microscopes and microbiological specimens, including human tissue specimens, bacterial specimens, human histology specimens, and human pathology specimens.
The laboratory also includes ready-to-use microbiological culture media on plates as well as disposable equipment, such as microscope slides, swab sets with transport medium, swab sets without medium, sterile containers for culturing biological material for direct examination, sterile containers with spatulas for sample collection, and other disposable equipment and materials used in laboratory testing.
Anatomy Laboratory
The Anatomy Laboratory is equipped, among others, with three-dimensional anatomical models, including: a human skeleton, human skeleton with ligaments, skeleton of a 5–6-year-old child, fetal skeleton (30 weeks of gestation), individual human bones, a spinal cord model, spine, spine with pelvis, hand model, leg model, brain model (9 parts), 3D head and brain, skull, brain with skull model (8 parts), eye, anatomical model for studying muscles (80 cm, 27 parts), heart, kidney, ear, lungs, vestibular system, head with neck, male reproductive organs, female reproductive organs with pelvis, lung model, knee and foot model, skin models, and a torso model with internal organs.
The laboratory also includes a set of bones and anatomical models available for study, including: scapula, pelvic bone, individual ribs, individual vertebrae, sacrum, patella, intervertebral discs, humerus, ulna, radius, hand bones, foot bones, sternum model, tibia, femur, fibula, as well as joint models such as the knee joint, hip joint, elbow joint, shoulder joint, and clavicle.
In addition, the laboratory features anatomical charts and diagrams of anatomical systems, as well as an advanced three-dimensional anatomy learning platform – Complete Anatomy by Elsevier, a highly detailed, realistic, and interactive 3D anatomical atlas of the human body, consisting of 17,000 three-dimensional structures.
Teaching Prosection Room
The Teaching Prosection Room is equipped with a professional workstation for the preparation of bodies and anatomical specimens, including essential stainless-steel furnishings. It enables students to learn about the structure of human organs and body systems, including through the study of cadavers and anatomical specimens.
Physiology Laboratory
The Physiology Laboratory is equipped, among others, with equipment for physical examinations, including: a hair esthesiometer, tuning forks, neurological reflex hammers, measuring tapes, blood pressure monitors, sphygmomanometer, stethoscopes, and stopwatches.
It also includes a physiology of exercise workstation equipped with: a cycle ergometer, treadmill, heart activity monitoring device, steps of varying heights, weights with different loads, a metronome, Wright peak flow meter, Barnes spirometer, electrocardiograph, as well as equipment for biophysical experiments, such as supports, levers, flat bars, a dial gauge, sets of weights, electrodes, measurement systems, resistors with known resistance values, and connecting cables for various configurations.
Kinesiotherapy, and Kinesiotherapy and Massage Laboratories
The Kinesiotherapy Laboratory and the Kinesiotherapy and Massage Laboratory are used for conducting classes within the Physiotherapy program, including kinesiotherapy, massage, manual therapy, and clinical physiotherapy.
They are equipped with modern rehabilitation equipment, including a UGUL therapy cage, CROM sets for measuring the range of motion of the cervical spine, devices for testing sensation and hand and foot innervation, Saunders traction devices for the cervical and lumbar spine, Redcord suspension systems, additional suspension sets, and modern manual therapy tables.
Additionally, negatoscopes, dynamometers, wedges for manual therapy, sensorimotor training discs, mattresses, rehabilitation mats, and exercise balls are available for students and instructors.
Physiotherapy Laboratory
The Physiotherapy Laboratory is used for classes in the fundamentals of physiotherapy, including physical medicine (physiotherapy, balneoclimatology, and biological regeneration), as well as elements of kinesiology, physiology, biomechanics, functional diagnostics, and rehabilitation programming.
The laboratory is equipped with: treatment couches, Solux lamps, an ECG device, ergometer, ultrasound system, treadmill, sport testers, heart rate monitors, and modern equipment for selected physiotherapeutic procedures, including ultrasound therapy devices, a two-channel electrotherapy unit, an interferential current therapy device, and a Combi device by BTL for electrotherapy, laser therapy, magnetotherapy, and ultrasound therapy.
Additional equipment includes a laser therapy device, cryotherapy device, vacuum massage unit, as well as equipment enabling advanced diagnostic procedures, such as a dynamographic platform for balance and gait analysis and a ZEBRIS system for cervical and lumbar motion analysis.
Cosmetology Laboratories
The Cosmetology Laboratories are equipped with the necessary equipment, devices, and professional cosmetic preparations enabling the performance of treatments in care cosmetology, therapeutic cosmetology, and aesthetic cosmetology.
Equipment includes cosmetic multifunction units with ultrasound and cavitation peeling, devices for diamond microdermabrasion, needle-free mesotherapy, equipment utilizing radiofrequency (RF) waves, massage beds, Solux lamps, vacuum massage devices, hydro-massage equipment, a biostimulating laser, massage stones, Chinese cupping sets, ice massage accessories, and soy candles.
Makeup and Styling Laboratory
The Makeup and Styling Laboratory enables the performance of professional makeup applications and the delivery of classes in makeup artistry, styling, and color analysis, as well as eyelash and nail styling and the fundamentals of linergistics (permanent makeup).
