Wojewódzki Urząd Pracy w Katowicach

The Provincial Labor Office in Katowice is the provincial self-government organizational unit of the self-government of the Silesian Voivodeship. It operates as a budget unit, financed from the budget of the local government of the Silesian Voivodeship. The headquarters is located in Katowice. The office has branch offices in Bielsko-Biała and Częstochowa. Its activities cover the area of the Silesian Voivodeship.

The Office operates within the Public Employment Services. On behalf of the local government of the Silesian Voivodeship, it carries out tasks in the field of labor market policy and human resources development. Defines and coordinates the policy of the local and regional labor market in accordance with its needs.

It serves as an intermediary institution in the implementation of European Union funds under the European Social Fund.

It constantly monitors the situation on the labor market in the Silesian Voivodeship and, if necessary, takes preventive actions and actions aimed at mitigating the negative effects of unemployment. Every year it develops a Regional Action Plan for Employment.

As part of the coordination of social security systems, it helps people returning to Poland after working abroad. Together with the public employment services of EU and EFTA Member States and other authorized organizations at local, regional, national and EU level, it creates the European Employment Services (EURES). Within the network, it ensures that interested people can find safe work abroad.

Career advisors provide services in the field of methodology and career counseling.

The Provincial Labor Office in Katowice is an important partner of the local and regional labor market. It is very much involved in international cooperation, related not only to cross-border mobility in border regions, but also actively participates, together with foreign partners, in European projects supporting the labor market.
